The Westminster Operations Center located in Carroll County, Maryland (30 minutes from the greater Baltimore area) has an incredible opportunity for a driven, self-motivated individual to join our Operations Services team. This unique position involves collaborating with people at all levels within the organization in support of our goal of strengthening the world's largest general trade book publisher by building the best supply chain in the publishing industry. The Operations Services department is responsible for project management as well as data analysis. Recent projects include adding two distribution centers to our network, implementing a goods-to-person system, and developing distribution network models for a $200M fulfillment operation. This position offers tremendous opportunities for growth while learning the ins and outs of the publishing industry's leading supply chain.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major operational initiatives across our distribution network. A large-scale automation and material handling implementation is now underway at our Crawfordsville Operations Center, and this position will have the opportunity to support that work through cross-site collaboration, analysis, and project involvement. As our operations continue to evolve, the role will also contribute to future automation, material handling, and operational improvement initiatives at the Westminster facility and across the network.

This role combines analysis, project management, and process improvement in support of distribution operations. You will evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help develop new approaches that support operational growth and efficiency. The role also requires a candidate to be comfortable working with data, building analyses in Excel, and communicating findings clearly to a range of audiences.
You will contribute to analyses and projects focused on distribution operations, with opportunities to take on increasing ownership over time. Some projects will require work in the warehouse, including time studies, flow chart development, testing system enhancements, and training others. Other projects may include developing activity-based costing and labor models, supporting warehouse management system implementations, designing new facilities, and implementing new automation and material handling solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in industrial engineering, supply chain operations, or a related technical field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills, including experience working with complex formulas
• Excellent PC skills to include Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing conditions
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across functions and levels of the organization
Preferred Qualifications:

Additional Role Details and Requirements:
- This is an onsite role, Monday through Friday
- Some non-standard and weekend work is expected during system implementations
- Travel is required as needed based on project work
- May include visits to other facilities and implementation sites
- Travel frequency will vary depending on project scope and phase
- Attendance at trade shows and industry conferences may be required to support vendor engagement, equipment and solution exploration, operational improvement initiatives, and professional development
The salary range for this position is $60,000-$100,000. All positions are currently eligible for profit award or bonus, subject to company results.
