6 month design fellowship at Ten Speed press

January 2020—June 2020


Ten Speed Press, an imprint of Random House and a division of Penguin Random House.


We are excited to offer to recent design graduates a six-month fellowship in the Ten Speed design department.


Qualified candidates must be creative, collaborative designers with an interest in illustrated-book publishing and an affinity for cooking, art/design, gift, and humor. We require outstanding organization and communication skills, an eagerness to work as part of a team, and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.


Design role

Collaborate with and support the Ten Speed Press design team.

Create one-off book designs and covers, from concept to print-ready files.

Execute design concepts generated by others, working with templates.

Implement editorial text corrections to interior book pages.

Research illustrators and photographers.

Design catalog materials, fellow posters, dummy books, and other marketing materials.

Maintain schedules and meet deadlines on assigned projects.


The position will be for 6 months, 28 hours a week at $17.50 per hour
