Maintenance Supervisor- Unique 3 day work week

Penguin Random House is seeking a candidate for a Maintenance Supervisor for our weekend shift.  Candidate will communicate with Facility Engineering and other Managers for a smooth transition of work between shifts. 

 

The shift will be as follows:

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 6:00am - 6:00 pm (There may be some flexibility within this shift)

This shift also pays an additional 12.5% shift differential to boost your earnings.

In this position you will:

  • Communicate with warehouse management to solve daily operating problems.
  • Assign work and set priorities for mechanics.
  • Coordinate work between different maintenance shifts.
  • Act as a technical source for problem solving.
  • Order material for planned work.
  • Coordinate the services of outside vendors and contractors.
  • Establish procedures and schedules for preventive maintenance work.
  • Prepare reports on maintenance activities and hazardous materials.
  • Train mechanics for additional skills and potential promotion.

 

To be considered for this position you must:

  • Posses knowledge of all building and processing equipment
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Posses knowledge in both electrical and mechanical maintenance
  • Have the ability to work on several projects at once
  • Have the ability to work under pressure

 

Experience and Education

 

  • Possess a high school degree.  Some college work preferred
  • Have 5 years experience in a maintenance field, with at least 2 years of supervisory responsibilities
  • Possess the ability to motivate and lead employees
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office required, AutoCAS, CMMS preferred
