Sustainable Supply Chain Coordinator

Our Group Publishing Operations team is in search of a Sustainable Supply Chain Co-ordinator

We connect and champion the world’s most brilliant voices, bringing them to life for audiences everywhere and as our Production Compliance controller, you will get to work alongside the teams to drive our various initiatives and projects across the production supply chain.

Our sustainability projects are at the forefront of our minds in everything we do. We pledge that we will source 100% of our paper sustainably by 2020. We are measuring and reducing our carbon footprint, all the way from paper mill to bookshop and we only work with suppliers who have signed up to PRELIMS environment and labour standards.

As Sustainable Supply Chain Co-ordinator, you will be working closely with different business areas to identify opportunities for reducing our carbon footprint even further across our supply chain.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting supplier evaluation and compliance, both new and existing, as appropriate.
  • FSC audit management, making sure reporting is accurate
  • Being the key liaison with external 3rd parties and identifying possible new, sustainable suppliers.
  • Ensuring supplier compliance relating to global code of conduct, ethical supply chain, modern slavery report and other miscellaneous and corporate reporting requirements relating to the supply chain
  • Developing and maintaining databases to track and report on our ethical and environmental performance
  • Understanding customers’ ethical and sustainable policies, and communicating our commitment by contributing to customer presentations and internal communications
  • Maintaining and communicating the monthly supplier spend report
  • Knowledge of environmental issues in relation to publishing and production would be an advantage, although not essential.

You might be experienced in production and have a keen interest to work on sustainability projects, or you could be a Corporate Responsibility specialist who has an interest in supply chain. Either works for us! We are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do and who is committed to enable us to be the best that we can.

For more information please don’t hesitate to get in touch, or send your CV and covering letter to be considered.

We offer a competitive salary and extensive benefits package, this includes flexible working, staff discount, medical and dental cash plan, 25 days starting holiday, extended parental leave, season ticket loan and bonus. More information can be shared on application.
