Do you spend more time with your headphones on than off?

If so, we could have the perfect job for you.

This is an exciting time to join a fast-paced team that is setting a precedent for innovative and ground-breaking work within the Audio market.

At Penguin Random House Audio, the UK’s leading audiobook publisher, we are dedicated to making the best audiobooks in the market. We publish standout audiobooks, from Barack Obama’s astounding memoirs, Avni Doshni’s Booker-shortlisted Burnt Sugar and Stephen Fry’s Troy.

We have recently opened Penguin Studios, our brand new state of the art recording space. In order to help ensure that we’re the place everybody wants to record, we are looking for an enthusiastic Studio Assistant to join our growing team.

You’ll be joining the team during an exciting time of growth, which is why this new position has come about. Our mission is to ensure that Penguin Studios is the chosen home for authors, actors and production talent. You’ll play an essential part in that. Your role’s purpose will be to keep everything running like clockwork, even when working remotely. That means you’ll be using your organisational skills daily to be a master of our production schedules, processing invoices, putting together call sheets, and ensuring refreshments are provided for readers.

You need to be comfortable interacting with high profile talent, able to think on your feet, and present an organised and dynamic frontier for Penguin Studios. You’ll make sure that everything is in the right place at the right time – this could be anything from making sure scripts are ready for readers in the booth, to checking on taxis and arranging lunches.

To succeed in this role, you’ll be well organised to comfortably work in a fast paced environment. You’ll be able to balance working independently and with others. You’ll be supported by your line manager, the Studio Manager, who you’ll support in organising freelance editing and production work, by co-ordinating availability with our freelance pool, so your role will be varied and will keep you busy.

Having an interest in audio production and being proficient in Microsoft Office are important for this role. If you have some editing experience with ProTools/SADiE that will be useful, though training will be provided.

The most rewarding part, you’ll get the chance to work with some of the most exciting talent in the audio production industry, from award-winning producers, to high profile actors and best-selling authors.

If you’ve got a passion for books, and audio production, we’d love to hear from you.

Please apply with your CV and cover letter by Wednesday 27th January.

Salary: You‘ll start on £24,000. Expect a £1,000 increase on your first anniversary in this role and a further £1,000 on your second to reflect your growing contribution.
