Senior Finance Analyst

Are you proactive and persuasive with strong analytical skills and attention to detail? 

If so, then we are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Central Finance Team here at Penguin Random House. You will support the Senior Finance Manager in a diverse number of central areas, predominantly focusing on more commercial elements of the function, albeit with a smaller element of financial accounting included. Supporting the Finance Manager and working across the wider Group Finance Team, You will:

  • Prepare insightful analysis to aid decision making during customer and supplier negotiations
  • Robust and reliable financial modelling to assess appropriate level of intercompany trading terms
  • New account setup and approval for Digital customers
  • PRH Risk management and reporting
  • Further develop the role of Finance in auditing and compliance, controlling and challenging the business to achieve the optimal balance of risk management and profitability
  • Prepare the insurance renewal documentation and contribute to ensuring coverage is appropriate to help manage company risks
  • Supported by Senior Finance Manager further develop Group balance sheet reporting for Board level
  • Preparation of cash flow forecasting with strong understanding of actual reporting and variances to expectations and prior year


What you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be Self-motivated, committed and comfortable working in a changing environment
  • Ability to consistently meet strict deadlines and to produce high quality information
  • Strong Organisation skills
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Advanced Excel user (e.g. VLOOKUP, SUMIF, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, etc.)
  • Knowledge of other MS Office products
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and previous experience of creating PowerPoint presentations a necessity
  • Experience of SAP and Business Objects is required for this role in order to hit the ground running
  • An accountancy qualification (either Qualified or Finalist) – e.g. ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA
