Senior Editor/Editorial Director (FTC), Penguin Random House Children's

Do you want to be involved in creating brilliant stories for children and young people of different tastes and ages? Would you be excited to make a big impact in a short space of time? If you are creative and passionate then we want to hear from you.
Our Penguin Random House Children’s team are looking for a dynamic person with editorial experience to join them on a fixed-term contract basis (approx. 12 months to cover a period of maternity leave). We are looking for candidates at either Senior Editor or Editorial Director level to take on this opportunity; please do outline your preference in your cover letter.

You’ll have the chance to work with some of the best author names in the children’s market during your time with us and we’d love your fresh eyes and expertise on our publishing across age groups and genres. There’s also scope and opportunity for creative commissioning and idea development in this role.
We need someone experienced in hands-on editorial work, all aspects of acquiring, negotiating and publishing children’s books and the ability to build strong relationships with authors and agents. You’ll have a good industry network, enthusiasm and energy to contribute to the vibrant list and team.
You will gain experience working on fiction projects for 6+ readers on the Puffin list and YA novels under Penguin, which incorporates a variety of titles and authors; from Jeff Kinney to Malorie Blackman and Robin Stevens to Humza Arshad.
If you’d like to apply for this position please submit your CV and Cover Letter by midnight on Monday 6th April 2020.
