Puffin is home to so many imaginative and best-selling authors and illustrators. Our designers work on a huge range of different books but what they all have in common is clever creativity and outstanding design. Our brilliant designers look after some of the very best authors, illustrators, classic characters and brands in children’s publishing alongside finding and nurturing new talent. 

 

We are looking for a talented and highly creative Senior Designer/Design Manager (dependent on experience) to join the Puffin Picture Books & Illustrated Non-Fiction team on a fixed term basis to cover a period of maternity leave (until approx. Jan 2022).

 

We want an experienced designer with exceptional type and layout skills to take ownership and responsibility for leading the design of titles and series from concept to finished product, working on strategy and managing book schedules and budgets. 

 

You'll have experience of collaborating with authors, illustrators, editors, production colleagues and other designers to create must have packages. You will be organised and a good clear communicator, but above all we are looking for a great, proactive designer, who is bursting with commercial ideas and has the skills to make them happen.

 

You’ll be a fluent user of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work to a deadline.
