Vintage is one of the UK’s leading publishers.  We publish some of the greatest writers from around the world – including Margaret Atwood, Nigella Lawson, Jo Nesbo, Yuval Harari, Ian McEwan, Haruki Murakami, Toni Morrison and Anne Tyler.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Manager to join the Vintage sales team on a 12-month fixed term contract.

In this role, you’ll influence and implement the Vintage sales strategy, working closely with the key accounts team as well as key stakeholders across the publishing division and report to the Sales Director.

We are keen to find someone with excellent communication and relationship skills as you’ll be working closely with customers and publishing colleagues within Vintage as well as the wider PRH Group, directly managing a team of three. You’ll work with our colleagues across Editorial, Marketing, Production, Publicity and Sales Operations and will work closely with our Sales Director and other senior management, to develop and grow sales for the division.

Management of the key accounts team will form the crucial part of your role. You’ll create an environment where your team members are supported and inspired to do their best work. Working with Key Account Managers will also mean that you will lead on the digital and physical and audio sales market.

You’ll play a key role in the publishing strategy and author meetings, feeding in expertise from market data to influence key decisions on what the division acquires. You’ll have a strong sales background in either a publishing or media environment, with experience managing key accounts across large UK retailers including online accounts. You’ll be commercially-focussed in all that you do, curious about new opportunities and developments in the marketplace – and how we make those happen.

You’ll be great at connecting with people, whether that’s customers, your colleagues or your team and work closely to problem-solve and support your stakeholders to encourage further growth of sales within our publishing house and the broader Penguin Random House business.

You’ll have a head for numbers and be analytically minded, showing that you can use data and insight from the market to influence sound business decisions.

Most importantly, this is a key role in a busy sales department and we are looking for someone who will successfully implement the Vintage strategy with our customers and bring market feedback into the division, and to contribute as part of the wider PRH sales team.

If you feel you can make a difference to Vintage, to be part of a growing publishing house and can develop and maintain strong relationships with our customers, then we’d love to meet with you.

Please apply with your CV and cover letter no later than Monday 25th January.
