Recruitment Advisor, Technology Specialist

As Resourcing Advisor, joining a team of seven Acquirers and Hirers, your role will be to support hiring managers, primarily in Tech, to find, attract and hire exceptional talent to work at Penguin Random House, the UK’s largest publishing house.


You don’t need to have stepped foot in a publisher’s before to work with us.


What we’re interested in is your expertise and interest in recruiting tech talent.


And in your curiosity to keep learning, by immersing yourself in the world of Technology, working in partnership with our multiple teams to understand their hiring needs and how to most effectively meet them together.


You’ll know how to create the best possible candidate experience too, utilising your networks to help bring on board the talent we need.


And you’ll be interested in developing, unlocking and shaping our employer brand so that we attract talents who may not have typically considered joining a creative business before. 


You can look forward to a fast-moving and varied day, with the chance to get stuck in to a wide-range of tasks and projects, from sifting applications to creating and building talent shortlists, arranging interviews and providing feedback to candidates, right through to writing creative ads and finding ways to reach and engage different audiences.


You will also have the opportunity to make a real difference to our hiring managers through the relationships you make, the expertise you bring and the support you offer so that we make the best hiring decisions possible.


Here’s what we’re looking for:


We’re really open and interested in bringing in new perspectives. And so whilst you’ll need previous experience of recruiting technology led roles, this could have been for any industry, or even perhaps as a hiring manager.


Beyond that, what’s most important is being comfortable with a high volume of work and working to a fast-pace, which means being able to keep on top of things whilst paying meticulous attention to detail.


You’ll be working in partnership with the tech team, across all levels, so you’ll need to build relationships and trust with people, quickly, by understanding their needs, coming up with solutions and working proactively to pre-empt situations and complexities.
