Personal Assistant to Group Finance Director (12 month Fixed Term Contract)

 At Penguin Random House, Finance plays a key role in our business from our publishing to group accounting and reporting. We’re recruiting a PA to provide vital support to our Group Finance Director during a period of parental leave.


In this role, you will:


  • Be responsible for calendar management for the Group Finance Director, Finance & Commercial Director and Director of Central Finance
  • Carry out some inbox management for the Group Financial Director
  • Schedule and organise meetings, including logistics such as venue, tech set up
  • Organise the Group Finance Director’s expenses as well as the coding of invoices in SAP.
  • Approving annual leave requests on behalf of the Group Finance Director
  • Follow-up on actions
  • Occasionally make travel arrangements
  • Plan and coordinate team events and social activities
  • Be the key point of contact internally and externally when the Group Finance Director is unavailable


You don’t need to have any previous PA experience, but you will need to have proven administrative experience (including diary management), and good knowledge of Outlook. You'll be approachable and personable, able to act as a first point of contact to a wide range of people.


You’ll need to have excellent organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple priorities, and be able to anticipate and pre-empt challenges, using your initiative to come up with solutions.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus benefits.
