Do you have an inquisitive mind?

This is an opportunity for your market analysis and insight to prompt real business responses.

As part of the Strategy Team, this role provides the business with information on the book market through research and data analysis. You will explore UK and international market trends, sales patterns and competitor activity, drawing out and communicating clear, concise insights.

Your work will also inform and support the rest of the Strategy Team on a range of high-profile strategic and commercial projects. You will also be responsible for ad hoc market analysis for colleagues in Publishing and Sales.

We’re a small team, so you’ll need to work well independently on multiple projects at a time. You’ll need to be proactive and interested in driving change, both through your insight and analysis and through improving day-to-day data processes. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are necessary, as you will work closely with different colleagues across the business.

You don’t need a background in publishing and training and support is available for all areas, so here is what you do need:

  • Experience of quantitative data analysis
  • Excel skills (pivot tables and advanced formulae)
  • Ability to summarise key findings and present these as graphs and other visualisations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Curiosity and an interest in the future of book publishing

Also beneficial would be:

  • Interest in/basic knowledge of data visualisation (Power BI/Tableau)
  • Interest in/basic knowledge of SQL and/or Python

If this sounds like you, please apply with a CV and cover letter by 13th May.

We are currently working remotely, but expect this role to transition back into our London offices when possible. All interviews will be conducted over video call.

Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits
