Michael Joseph is the leading commercial fiction and non-fiction imprint of Penguin Books. We publish some of the world’s most popular authors (including Jamie Oliver, Jojo Moyes, Marian Keyes and Stephen Fry).


We’re looking for a commercially minded, driven, confident sales person to join us as a Key Account Executive.


You’ll be managing relationships with key retailers across the High Street and the supermarket sector to maximise our turnover. And you’ll do that by working closely with the Publishing Division here to proactively drive sales opportunities and connect our customers with our authors, brands and books.


Relationships are at the core of this role, and you’ll link in with the wider sales team to create a reliable experience for our customers and common strategic goals, as well as excellent communication of activity across the business. 


You’ll have a passion for MJ’s publishing as well as the wider industry and a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the success of our books.


You may not have proven experience managing customer relationships but, with a keen focus on the commercial side of the business, you’ll be proactive in pursuing creative ways to make our successes even bigger.


Finally, you’ll need to be interested in the numbers – analytics will add rigour to your conversations, and mean you’re thought of as an expert in your area.
