That’s what Non-Trade Sales is all about – taking brands like Peppa Pig, Jamie Oliver and Fifty Shades of Grey to unexpected places. It’s about finding gems in our catalogue and finding new ways to sell them.


You could be supporting this mission by joining us as our new Business Development Assistant.


You’ll support the Head of Business Development with general administrative work - this could be anything from keeping spreadsheets and databases up-to-date to invoice chasing, reporting and setting up new accounts on our systems.


You’ll be the face and voice of the department and will work with a wide range of people – internally as well as customers outside our business as the first port of call for queries.


The other element of your role will directly support new business development. That could be anything from finding contact details for a potential collaboration, or doing your own research on new customers that could help us reach wider audiences with our books. You’ll then work with your manager and colleagues from other parts of the business to take these ideas forward and make them happen.


You’ll need to be super organised, with a hawk-like attention to detail, able to juggle and prioritise various competing demands on your time.


Working with colleagues and customers alike, you’ll need to be a brilliant communicator, comfortable speaking to different people on the phone and in person. You’ll also be a team player, able to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in when things get busy.


You’ll be able to think creatively – whether that’s around a problem, or coming up with a new angle or lead for our team to take forward. It’s supporting a highly commercial area of our business, so being analytically minded with a head for numbers would also be a plus.


Finally, you’ll have a passion for our purpose - to share our many great stories, writing and brands with as many people as possible.
