Head of IT Procurement

If so, then we are looking for a Head of IT Procurement to join our Technology team. You will lead the management of technology suppliers for quality, pricing and delivery timeliness. This role holds responsibility to develop, implement and manage an on-going framework for the consistent delivery of technology services; ensuring relationships with suppliers are clear and facilitated in a professional and constructive manner.

You will:

  • Create and manage on-going supplier review framework
  • Identify opportunities for supplier rationalisation and contract renegotiation based on performance
  • Construct RFI/RFP/RFQ’s and manage the tender process
  • Lead on specific contract negotiations from a commercial perspective
  • Develop scorecard framework for the on-going evaluation of supplier performance
  • Communicate and monitor objectives
  • Developing sound processes around supplier selection and measurement
  • Development and on-going management of the Technology Vendor Management
  • Establishing and delivering an appropriate internal reporting pack
  • Act as the Commercial & Procurement PRH ambassador in Bertelsmann Group forum, sharing best practices and leveraging economies of scale and scope to realise cost savings and/or TCO efficiencies


What you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • A Logical, analytical approach with good attention to detail
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to foster and develop business partnerships and manage conflicts
  • A solid understanding of information technology as well as experience with software licensing, hard procurement, and outsourcing (including offshore) agreements
  • Sound financial planning – understanding of balance sheets and the ability to write business cases
  • High level of personal and interpersonal skills, including strong communication, planning and organisation skills
  • Understanding and proven experience of supply chain management, vendor selection and of negotiating and agreeing preferential rates with suppliers
  • Line management or mentoring experience (professional or otherwise)
  • Proven experience of working as part of a project team
  • Ability to demonstrate IT expertise and knowledge of data presentation e.g. use of databases, reports, Excel spread sheets etc.
  • A broad understanding of the communication needs of a diverse and fast moving stakeholder base
