Finance Analyst

We have an opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our divisional Finance team in Children’s. We’re a team of five, motivated individuals that look after the monthly management accounts process for the Children’s team, confirming gross and net sales contribution. Your role will involve hands on collation, preparation, presentation and analysis of financial and management information for the division. You don’t need to have worked in publishing before as we’re interested in fresh perspectives and transferable industries.


You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager, as your line manager, and the other Financial Analyst’s in the team to prepare budget and forecast data across the different stages of the publishing process.

You’ll be partnering closely with non-finance colleagues in this role, including Editorial, Sales, Rights and Contracts. You’ll be helping your teams analyse data to help understanding around the profitability or potential profitability of a specific title, author or series.


Working in a creative environment with an emphasis on business partnering, you’ll need to be able to build strong relationships outside of finance. That means that you’ll quickly be able to build trust and be able to explain data and financial concepts to a non-financial audience without the jargon.


What you’ll bring


You’ll know your way around Excel – pivots, vlookups, and complex formulae. You’ll also be experienced building reports and have meticulous attention to detail.


You may also have started studying for a finance qualification (CIMA/ACCA or similar) and are looking to build on your practical experience in your next role.

A salary range of between £26,000 - £34,000 is available dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
