Deployment Lead (12mths FTC), Technology

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deployment Lead to join an exciting and complex Purchase to Pay programme using SAP cloud based technology and covering over 1000 users. 
You will primarily be providing deployment specific expertise to the cutover activities for two waves of implementation including project management aspects, communications to relevant stakeholders and ensuring the go live governance criteria is achieved. 
You will have experience of leading cutovers and deployments for multi staged projects, has experience with agile, and cloud based technology.


Location: Remote working currently and then most likely Embassy Gardens upon return (may require some travel to Frating)    


Your Key Responsibilities & Duties required for this role:
•    Development of the most suitable deployment strategy given the technology, business needs and requirements
•    Planning & execution of all elements of ramp down, cut over, ramp up (including interim deployments of SAP releases during sprints ) 
•    Planning & execution of dress rehearsals where appropriate 
•    Work to build detailed deployment plans for each of the data Migration & test stages, dress rehearsal and final deployment into live
•    Work with the Business to identify business process ramp down & ramp up points as part of the technical deployment plan
•    Work with the Data specialists to manage the plan for all data migration loads
•    Work with the Technology team to ensure all elements of transition into service are planned, documented, delivered and the team ready and able to receive the deployment.
•    Work with the communications team to identify all internal and external communications required to support the deployment. 
•    Ability to undertake contingency planning in a complex programme with multiple constraints.
•    Take forward multiple strands of activity, to tight timelines, requiring coordination and parallel delivery by the role-holder, and management of dependencies with other parallel work streams within the wider programme


The Deployment Lead is accountable for the end-to-end delivery of their assigned project objectives: -
•    Has a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large scale technical & business deployments on-time, with end-to-end accountability, within a large multi-site organisation.
•    Conversant in and experience of producing the fundamental programme deliverables for the Deployment work stream
•    Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and satisfactory completion of all deployment tasks 
•    Identifies, assesses and manages risk throughout all Programme stages up to and during the Deployment stage
•    Works alongside the Project Manager and work stream leads to meet planned milestones and maintain regular and accurate reports to stakeholders as appropriate.
•    Strong, succinct and audience-appropriate communications, and ability to lift up detail into significance for the Programme leadership team
•    Can develop and execute rapid contingency plans and think creatively so that problems can be solved within the programme


•    Achieving results through effective team leadership and through the planning, control and formal review of progress against plan
•    Successfully managing multiple large-scale deployment tasks. 
•    Has an analytical and creative approach to problem solving. 
•    Has strong planning, communication and presentation skills, is proficient in project management and deployment
•    Understands the interdependencies of business processes and information 
•    Is able to impact assess dependency from external to the programme and internally across work stream and stage. 
•    Extensive experience in MS Project and all MS Office 


Nice to have skills:
•    Strong academic credentials from coupled with sound project management capabilities 
•    PRINCE Practitioner, PMI or equivalent
•    Some experience with Jira or similar agile project management tools.

Salary: Circa £55k dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits
