Data Visualisation Developer, Technology

We are recruiting for a Data Visualisation Developer to join the team based at our London office. You will be reporting into Data Visualisation Manager.


You will be working with business teams to design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for the business. This is accomplished via both dedicated project work and BAU support/enhancement work, supporting projects and maintaining business service during periods of change.


You will be a part of a centre of excellence within the company, leading on how to best use the Power BI tools and act as an integral link for the business into the often-complex data available.

You will provide on-going support for these systems and solutions, whilst liaising with the business and other IT functions and meanwhile sharing the knowledge and learnings with the internal team.


Your Key Responsibilities & Duties required for this role:
Power BI

  • Visualisation development, support and troubleshooting
  • Driving PowerBI best practice & knowledge sharing across the internal team & wider company
  • Working closely with Data Team (visualisation, ETL & architects) to ensure optimal & accurate Power BI dashboards



  • Work on small/medium sized projects to extend/enhance dashboards
  • Collaborate with the global Power BI & Data teams on global projects
  • Perform system testing, unit testing and integration testing on projects
  • Maintain documentation for existing BI systems
  • Provide team KT/training
  • Form part of the Hitperson rota, taking periodic responsibility to lead on solving visualisation based problems for the team


Business Relationships

  • Working closely with Data Modellers, Solution Architects and Engineers in order to advise on necessary changes to data layers to support business use case dashboards
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with Business Intelligence customers/users
  • Process and resolve assigned support tickets for incidents and change requests


You will also need:

  • Relevant experience in Power BI visualisation development and support
  • Experience in DAX coding
  • Experience reporting against a range of on premise and cloud data sources (E.g., Snowflake, Azure)
  • Experience with working in a project environment, including requirements gathering with business users and different cycles of testing, e.g. unit testing, system testing, integration testing
  • Experienced and confident in liaising with both technical and business focussed stakeholders
  • Extensive experience of testing for data quality and accuracy
  • Multiple iterations of taking business/user requirements and translating them into dashboards


Nice to have skills:

  • Understanding of Agile Development Methodology
  • Experience working with Data governance and catalogues and their effectiveness integrating with Power BI dashboards
  • Understanding of SAP Business Objects WebI, & conversions into Power BI


Salary: Circa £50,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits
