Do you want to build scalable solutions that provide business critical insights?


If so, then we’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our centralised Analytics team on a permanent basis. Working with a team of Data Scientists, Visualisation Developers and Insight Managers, your key role will be the technical expert in setting up an effective analytics data infrastructure, which allows the team to deliver meaningful results in statistical modelling, visualisation products and timely data driven insights.


You will:


  • Source data and investigate data sources such as Websites, flat files, or APIs.
  • Collaborate with our Data Scientists, Insight Managers, Visualisation Specialists and Enterprise ETL developers to identify, collect and transform data for research and analysis
  • Work closely with our Enterprise Data warehouse team to ensure data acquired could be integrated with larger scale static sales data in an analytics sandbox/small data server environment
  • Identify and diagnose data inconsistencies and errors
  • Advise best practise in data infrastructure technologies to host  analytics friendly data


To be successful in this role you’ll have:


  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or equivalent quantitative field
  • Python, SQL, and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience manipulating and joining data in multiple different formats (for example, csv, json, xml, text)
  • A strong understanding in integrating external APIs for data acquisition and automation
  • Experience designing efficient and robust ETL/ELT workflows, schedulers, and event-based triggers
  • Ability to build continuous Integration Pipelines
  • Experience to data exploration, profiling, quality control, transformation, and visualization
  • Experience in Git
  • Experience in Docker Containerization (


As a key support for the business, the role requires someone with excellent communication skills who is articulate and understands how to transform data, eager to learn and work with data and work collaboratively as part of a wider team.

It goes without saying that you’ll have an analytical mind-set and be able to proactively resolve issues when they arise. Strong technical knowledge of Data Science and comfort with utilizing team collaboration software (issue tracking, project management, document sharing, etc.) will be highly valuable.
