Are you interested in making books a key part of inclusive family entertainment?

Are you listening out for new voices, and stories or subjects you’ve not yet seen in books?

Penguin Random House Children’s are looking for a Commissioning Editor to join its non-fiction team. You would work across both the Puffin and Penguin imprints on books for children, young adult and crossover readers. More information about the imprints can be found here.

We’re looking for someone with enthusiasm and energy, a passion for books of all shapes and sizes, an interest in what’s happening in the world around them and someone who’s full of ideas.

Our non-fiction list encompasses a variety of titles and authors, from Stephen Hawking to Scarlett Curtis, Adam Kay to Naomi Klein. We’d like to make it even more varied, ensuring it truly reflects the diverse and exciting world we live in.

You will be key to this change and growth, seeking out new writers and then shepherding each project through the editorial process, from acquisition to publication and beyond. That means overseeing all stages of the book’s life and presenting and pitching new titles to a number of internal departments.

This is an exciting area of publishing that’s moving quickly, and we’re less concerned with your level of experience than your entrepreneurial attitude and your passion to make exciting things happen. Where you will have experience is in taking projects from a creative vision through to completion, balancing creativity with a commercial mind and an eye for detail and costs.

This is a role for a dynamic person who wants to seek out brilliant new talent and create conversation-starting books for all tastes and ages. There’s room for progression, and at Penguin Random House Children’s you’ll be backed up by the biggest team in children’s publishing.

If you are creative, savvy and passionate then we would love to hear from you. To apply, please submit a CV and a Cover Letter outlining your suitability and reasons for interest in the role by midnight on Tuesday 22nd September 2020.

This role is based at our new Embassy Gardens office in Nine Elms, Vauxhall (SW11 7BW).
