What was the last book that really caught your eye, and where did you hear about it?

Was it a recommendation from your favourite influencer, a perfectly timed social ad, or a standout piece of marketing that could not be ignored?

At Penguin General, we’re looking for a Campaigns Executive to join us on a permanent basis to help us create marketing campaigns that grab readers’ attention.

United by a curiosity about the world and a love of great storytelling, we publish good books that can be enjoyed by everyone. Our authors span literary fiction classics such as John le Carré and Ali Smith; non-fiction bestsellers including Ben Macintyre and Sathnam Sanghera; and chart-topping fiction writers such as Richard Osman and Emily Henry.

Your role within our Communications team will be to help senior marketers deliver campaigns for some of our biggest books, linking up our digital, social, marketing and publicity activity. On a day-to-day basis, you might be creating or briefing assets for social posts or reaching out to book bloggers. You may be executing your own smaller campaigns, working closely with sales on reactive activity, creating seasonal campaigns based on data insights or strategizing with colleagues on innovative ways to engage with new media trends.

You don’t need to have already worked in publishing, but experience using key social media platforms and an interest in books across a wide range of genres is a must. You’ll have strong communication and presentation skills, building relationships with colleagues, authors and agents, and be a skilled multi-tasker, with solid admin experience.

If this sounds like you, please apply with CV and Cover Letter by the end of the day on Thursday 30th June.

As part of your Cover Letter, we’d like you to include your response (in a maximum of 250 words) to the following question:

What is the one emerging trend in 2022 that you believe marketers should be paying attention to?

We will be starting a trial of hybrid working across our company and we’re happy to discuss flexible working options at interview stage. This role will be based at our Vauxhall Bridge Road office. First round interviews are likely to take place during w/c Monday 4th July, with in-person second round interviews taking place on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th July.

Salary: £27,000 - £28,000 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

What you can expect from us:
Our employees are the heart of our business. We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our employees, some of which are:
