Our International Sales team are looking forward to welcoming a Business Development Executive to support the growth of sales across various territories, with a particular focus on promoting education & customised books from our front and backlist.

Your role will be varied and, with support from the Head of Education Sales and Head of Education Development, you will become embedded in the wider International Sales team as a crucial point of contact for key educational accounts, our publishing colleagues and across our broader sales operations team. You will also work closely with our Custom Product colleagues to deliver bespoke publishing projects for key territories.

A normal day in this role might see you pitching to a key customer, speaking with teachers and students, undertaking a marketing or research project, outlining a custom project brief, or processing orders and analysing sales. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with key customers or professionals in an educational capacity, so you’ll naturally be capable of assisting our colleagues with creating and implementing education sales and marketing strategies.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone with strong personal organisation and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and use initiative. You will often communicate with a variety of stakeholders, so strong communication and negotiation skills are necessary. As you develop relationships across key education markets and custom accounts you will regularly share product information with our wider sales team, so evident analytical ability is important.

We are a supportive team so you do not need to have existing publishing experience, though a genuine interest in education sales is important. As you grow within the role and team, you will build excellent knowledge of specific educational accounts in focus markets and build on your existing commercial instincts. You’ll also get the chance to work on custom publishing projects, including brand new products featuring some of our most popular Children’s brands, so you’ll be able to share your creative ideas.

When you join the team you will primarily be working remotely, eventually moving to work in our Vauxhall Bridge Road office with some travel to Embassy Gardens and trips to visit key customers expected.

We are very much looking forward to receiving your application, if this role sounds like the next career step for you.

Please apply with your CV and cover letter by Monday 25th January 2021. As part of your cover letter, please tell us one reason why Education or Learning is important to you.
