Have you got experience as an Automated Test Analyst conducting day to day test activities?

We are looking for an Automated Test & Release Analyst to join the Technology team at Penguin Random House, based at our London offices.

You will be responsible for conducting day to day test and release activities. You will report into the Test Manager.

 

Knowledge and skills required for this role:

Planning:

•             Analysis of proposed system developments to understand the associated test effort.

•             Assist with test co-ordination to ensure key dates communicated and resources planned.

•             Prioritisation of test activities to focus on key areas of risk or business impact.

•             Co-ordinate release plans ensuring effective communication is in place with the business.

•             Liaise with other Centre of Excellence test resources across projects.

 

Testing:

•             Expand existing regression test coverage and produce/execute automated test scripts.

•             Review requirements and assist in producing different test artefacts.

•             Escalate any bugs found during the testing process as appropriate.

•             Co-ordinate UAT and sign off for all developments by liaising with business users.

•             Ensure regression testing covers the E2E application workflow.

•             Assist in individual test cycles & resolve business testers’ queries.

•             Helping with defect management and reporting.

 

Release Management:

•             Track and report on the progress within the release cycle.

•             Assisting with delivering any training requests from end users, working alongside the Business Partnership & Strategy team.

•             Ensure knowledge transfer for any new developments for support teams.

•             Work with project teams to ensure any project delivered developments are tested and released into production as part of a controlled release process.

•             Ensure any release related defects are analysed and reported post release.

•             Undertake other support duties as required by the reporting manager.

 

You will need:

Essential:

•             Knowledge of test automation methodologies and implementing best practices.

•             Expertise in .net

•             Experience in using automated testing tools (ideally Silk Test).

•             High level of competence with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office suite tools.

•             Producing and maintaining test scripts and process documentation.

•             Proven track record of testing medium to large technical changes and regression testing.

•             Engaging with stakeholders, technical teams and 3rd Party suppliers effectively.

 

Desirable:

•             Understanding of different types of testing across project lifecycle and releases.

•             Understanding of interface testing and middleware.

•             Knowledge of ITIL®.

•             ISTQB® qualification.

•             Exposure to Release Management.

•             Familiarity with bug tracking tools, e.g. JIRA, Service Now.

•             Knowledge of xml.

•             Experience in working in a Centre of Excellence model and agile team environment.

•             Experience in Non-Functional Testing.

•             3+ years’ experience with test automation.
