Our award-winning Penguin Creative team are looking for a fantastic Art Director. We’re interested to hear from you if you’re an experienced creative with an interest in playing a significant role in shaping the visual identity of the world’s most loved book brand, online and beyond.

 

Reporting to the Creative Director, in this newly created role you’ll be managing a team of designers, photographers and a Production Coordinator. You’ll be responsible for the asset design, illustration and photographic outputs across Penguin.co.uk in response to briefs from the content team, as well as collaborating with brands within the business. Editorial design experience would be advantageous, as would illustration skills. As well as illustration, you’ll have experience of art directing photography, both portrait and still life.

 

Deputising for the Creative Director where necessary, we’d like someone with experience of managing budgets and overseeing a team’s performance. You’ll be a natural leader, comfortable with building relationships and inspiring others to create exciting, world class work. Video and UX Design experience would be an advantage.

 

You will take the lead on creating for certain campaigns and work collaboratively with the Creative Director on research, pitch and execution. You’ll be a visual gate keeper for the Penguin Creative aesthetic, applying visual direction across all online formats.

 

To succeed in this role, you’ll have a true passion for all things design, illustration and photography, naturally equipped to spot new opportunities to enhance the Penguin brand and identity. You’ll be highly organised and comfortable with forming great working relationships to establish yourself across the department and wider business.
