Senior Credit Controller (FTC), Colchester



We have a new opportunity for a Senior Credit Controller to join our Credit Services team on a fixed term basis to cover a period of maternity leave (approx. 12 months from August 2020-September 2021). This role will be based at our Distribution site in Colchester, Essex.


You’ll play a key role in supporting and deputising for the Team Leader, and will assist in the training of other staff and using your expertise to build skills within the team.


Your main responsibilities will also involve:


  • Cash collection and query management of the sales ledger to meet targets and needs
  • International Account Reconciliation covering a large range of customers
  • Investigation of customer claims/queries through to resolution to enable prompt payment of invoices and minimise the risk of bad debt
  • Balance priorities to meet deadlines and agreed month end targets
  • Liaisons between publisher/customer to ensure disputes are settled in a timely manner
  • Responsibility for keeping and updating relevant records and advising the Team Leader of alterations/changes when necessary



To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in a credit control environment and will have excellent attention to detail and accuracy. You’ll be a confident MS Excel user and will be able to learn new IT systems and processes quickly.


Your credit control skills will be up-to-date and you will be able to ascertain customers’ ability to repay credit through investigation and questioning to advise on suitable repayment methods.


A background in publishing is not essential.
