We are looking for a Rights Revenue Team Leader to join us in our Royalties department, which is positioned within the Finance Services team and provides accounting and financial reporting for Penguin Random House. This role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and will be based at our distribution centre in Frating, Colchester.

 

The Rights Revenue team are responsible for ensuring that rights sale information and income is processed accurately and efficiently which enables us to pay our authors according to their contracts.

 

As Rights Team Leader you will be a direct line manager for Rights Administrators, and will therefore have excellent management skills, strong attention to detail and a flexible approach to working. Your key responsibilities will also include:

 

  • Entering royalty statements from our customers to ensure timely payment
  • Processing intercompany accounting at period end and liaising with the Royalty Accounts team
  • Highlight and facilitate team training and development along with performance and absence management
  • Liaise with the team to help clear significant/older transactions on a timely basis
  • Post journals to SAP for income that needs to be transferred
  • Produce monthly reports of income received for Rights Department
  • Monitor team’s workloads and prioritise work according to deadlines and targets
  • Review team member KPI’s/statistics on a monthly basis and address any concerns
  • Train and develop staff within the team and recognise and further training needs
  • Carry out annual performance reviews, set targets and measure performance
  • Deal with other staff issues such as holiday and attendance and if necessary carry out absence management reviews
  • Carry out regular one to one’s with team members to discuss workloads and team meetings

 

To be successful within this role you will be a proven people manager with experience in performance management and fostering continuous team learning and development. You’ll be able to demonstrate experience in a high volume transaction business area and will have strong numeracy skills. A background in Royalties would be advantageous but is not essential.

 

High proficiency in MS Office programs including Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint will be crucial, alongside a positive and enthusiastic attitude to your work.
