We are looking for an Integration Services Product Manager wherein the role will be based at Frating with occasional travel to London.

 

You will be working within Penguin Random House’s Integration Services Centre of Excellence, and report to the Head of Integration Services.

As Integration Product Owner for application-to-application integration (A2A), you will have a wealth of experience in integration and enterprise systems (Biblio, SAP, Vista plus others), workflows and business processes. You will understand the business value of efficient and reliable service. You will also have a history of managing and satisfying complex requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment.

You will engage with stakeholders within PRH to understand current and future business and IT requirements. This will inform your roadmap for A2A systems and its usage. As an ambassador of Integration best practice, you will manage the engagement between Integration Services team and business and other IT functions. You will own the pipeline of the work and manage prioritization of work.

You will manage requirements specification by working with internal and external suppliers, and develop deep relationships in order to inform and influence strategic product development.

Cross system integration and interoperability will be at the forefront of your roadmap planning and implementation as you support the process of improving and continuously optimising the integration systems landscape as well as the overall technology estate where required.   

 

Your Key Responsibilities & Duties required for this role:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in application integration and integration platforms
  • Advanced knowledge and experience as a product manager with proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Experience in Real time and Batch integrations
  • Experience and knowledge of APIs, Web Services, SOA, ESB, ETL concepts and tools
  • Experience integrating Cloud and On Premise applications integration
  • Experienced at engagement with business teams and stakeholders at different level to understand business needs. Able to analyse, document and prioritize the requirements across competing stakeholder requirements
  • Deliver the product that meets business requirements, reliability, scalability, and performance goals with clear communication to stakeholders on requirements status
  • Experience of managing supplier relationships, and an understanding of the development and delivery methodologies used
  • Deep understanding of integration and EDI
  • Team management: Openness to develop and motivate a highly performing analytical team providing clear and usable documented strategies
  • Experience in eliciting a clear business value associated with any system or process change
  • Ensuring that requirements are clear and traceable through to the test phase
  • Authoring/validating business, functional and technical requirements as well as specification documents
  • Working in an enterprise publishing environment with hundreds of users and multiple remote offices
  • Ensuring cross team working, knowledge share and pragmatic ownership of issues or challenges as they may arise. 
  • Familiarity with both waterfall and agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with project management and change management processes

 

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Provide leadership in devising area specific roadmaps and strategies in line with required improvements and user centric design to maximize efficiency of the processes and functionalities  
  • Product ownership of the Integration Systems and product backlog
  • Facilitating and driving business stakeholder forums to prioritize requirements
  • Accountable and responsible for ensuring requirements are accurately analyzed, designed and documented in line with PRH standards and processes
  • Working with internal teams and external suppliers to formulate and specify developments
  • Prioritization of changes to determine which, and when, to implement - within resource constraints
  • Management of a budget specific to the scope and products.
  • Operate collaboratively with other Centres of excellence to ensure that cross-system developments and interfaces
  • Ensuring that “as-is” and “to be” states are clearly understood and communicated
  • Critical assessment of the need for requirements
  • Facilitate the Test and Release cycles
  • Production of documentation to support service transition
  • Production of testing materials (e.g. test scenarios, FUT or UAT scripts) and support for testing process
  • Adherence to internal standards of documentation (be they departmental or project specific)
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key business stakeholders, ability to challenge and influence where required
  • Manage, assign, delegate and influence work items as required, keeping the Head of Integration Services (amongst others) informed of progress, risks and issues
  • Support and engage Integration SME’s, Business Analyst’s and Integration Architect, hand’s on where needed
  • Oversee delivery of new integrations and capabilities to the integration, EDI, external channel platforms
  • Ownership of full Application 2 Application integration service.
  • Partner with various business partners and application teams to evaluate how to best leverage integration to meet evolving business requirements and information needs.
  • Work with Architects to provide a reliable, scalable architecture.
  • Lead, guide and support team members, and help streamline work processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Provide functional leadership during technology enhancements upgrades/implementations and work successfully as a liaison with various internal business/technical partners.
