Our Financial Services team in Frating has an opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join the team. This role will be centred within the R2R activity and be responsible for all month-end close activities, including Group reporting and Balance Sheet control.

You will own the complete process for a Penguin Random House Group Company, delivering all financial and management accounts activities, as well as occasionally reporting into Bertelsmann, our parent company.

We are looking for a real team player who can contribute to departmental and personal success. You will also own the Fixed Asset Ledger for the Random House Group Companies, and assist in the completion of local Statutory Accounts.

Effective communication skills are essential, as you will work with key stakeholders within the management and financial accounts process to ensure strong controls, compliance and governance. You will also liaise with the Bertlesmann Internal Audit team and Compliance Accountant on relevant Internal Audits, as well as deliver the year end, half year and interim audits.

If you are commercially minded and keen to challenge current data and processes, this is the role for you. You will own the end to end process and interfact controls for transactions booked into the Group's Trial Balance (P&L and BS) and ensure that the processes are controlled, documented and optimised. You will also be required to complete and review relevant financial controls, such as BILMOG.

This role would suit someone with an eye for detail and strong analytical skills. You will thrive on juggling multiple projects and be able to adhere to strict deadlines.

As someone with advanced IT and systems skills, such as Excel, you will have some previous relevant experience, and be studying towards an accountancy qualification. Exposure to a large company with multiple entities would be advantageous, as would experience of Statutory Accounts and Reports.

Please send your CV and cover letter by Sunday 26th February.
