OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


To plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns for assigned titles, driving awareness, engagement, and sales through media outreach, social platforms, events, and retail partnerships. The role focuses on building strong author and stakeholder relationships while expanding audience reach via influencers, brand collaborations, and optimized digital presence. It also ensures consistent campaign delivery and discoverability across key channels, including Amazon.

INTERNAL  : Children’s Publishers and Editors, Digital, Social Media & Performance teams, Sales, Designers

EXTERNAL : Media, Influencers, Bloggers and Reading Communities, Authors, School Partners, Event, Literary & Bookstore Partners


ROLE CONTRIBUTION AREAS 

Title Marketing and Author Care:

•    Develop and execute robust marketing plans for 4-5 assigned titles per month
•    Maintain timely and effective communication with all stakeholders, keeping internal and external parties informed of campaign progress, challenges, and outcomes
•    Foster strong author relationships through regular updates, collaborative planning, and responsive support throughout the campaign timeline

 

Marketing Communications and Stakeholder Engagement:


•    Create monthly marketing pitches and newsletters for bloggers and partners within the first week of every month
•    Collaborate with the Manager to refine marketing strategies, incorporating feedback to enhance campaign effectiveness
•    Support backlist and brand author campaigns through strategy and execution by
•    reaching out to potential partners
•    conducting offline/online sessions
•    creating a campaign report

 

Media Relations and Public Relations:


•    Promote assigned titles by getting coverage including stories, author interviews, book reviews, and excerpts across print media, digital media, podcast, etc.
•    Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, journalists, and content creators and tap into 3-4 new media spaces annually to expand reach and audience engagement

 

Social Media Marketing, Influencer Engagement and Collaborations:


•    Add social media marketing ideas in the plans for assigned titles
•    Onboard 10 relevant influencers and explore 3-5 brand partnerships annually to amplify book visibility and engagement
•    Create innovative content and ensure consistent posting on Instagram

 

Event Management and Retail Partnerships:


•    Collaborate with schools and bookstore partners to curate events around frontlist and backlist titles
•    Coordinate with school partners, sales teams, and authors to organize successful events 
•    Enhance retail visibility by developing relevant POS materials for assigned titles

 

Amazon Optimization:


•    Conduct regular Amazon hygiene for allocated titles by uploading additional images and A+ content

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS


•    4–6 years of experience in marketing, publicity, brand marketing, or media relations, preferably within publishing, media, entertainment, or consumer brands.
•    Ability to plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across media, digital, retail, and events, with hands-on experience working with authors, influencers, and external partners.
•    Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external networks.
•    Excellent project management capabilities, able to multitask across multiple titles, meet deadlines, and deliver campaign outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
•    Creative, trend-aware, and data-driven professional with high ownership, attention to detail, adaptability, and a collaborative working style; exposure to event management and retail marketing is an added advantage.
