  • Plan and implement strategic sales initiatives, promotions, and merchandising opportunities.

  • Coordinate author and community events by working closely with the publicity team and ensuring event stock orders arrive on time.

  • Track and manage orders, inventory needs, and sales performance.

  • Liaise with internal teams across publishing, marketing, publicity, and operations to advocate for account needs.

  • Actively contribute at conferences and in meetings to help shape the sales strategy of a title, and ensure all stakeholders are aware of current trends and factors in the marketplace.

  • Stay informed about new releases, backlist opportunities, and upcoming campaigns.

Experience and knowledge you’ll bring (qualifications):

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales or retail (book or media experience preferred)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with independent book retailers in Canada, particularly those in your territory.

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines with strong attention to detail

  • Strategic thinker with a customer-first mindset.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce, Edelweiss, or Catalist, and BookManager is an asset.

  • The ability to travel and transport materials to all accounts is required.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.

  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.

  • An inclusive approach, supported by cultural competency and a proven ability to collaborate with people from across a wide range of diverse backgrounds.

  • Enhanced knowledge, awareness, and experience with the culture and history of any community that has faced marginalization is considered a plus.

  • And of course, a deep passion for books!

We are actively seeking to add team members from communities with lived experiences of marginalization and underrepresentation. We respect and value each individual and their lived experiences and are committed to creating a more diverse team and establishing a culture of belonging. If you self-identify as Black, Indigenous, a person of colour, a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community or another marginalized group, we strongly encourage you to apply.
