Account Manager

We are seeking a customer focused and full-time Account Manager to join our sales team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will be responsible for maximising book sales across a selection of our Booksellers. You will develop and manage relationships with customers, meet agreed sales budgets and maximise sales through collaborative promotional activity.

What you will do:

  • Increase sales and maximise all opportunities
  • Manage the sales process from presentation of sales materials to processing and tracking of orders
  • Identify market and promotional opportunities within each account
  • Connect marketing campaigns to promotional activity to drive sales
  • Report preparation – both written and verbal
  • Attending author events as required

What you will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or a related field
  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in sales 
  • Experience using feedback and data analysis to make informed and strategic decisions
  • Proven ability to think and work analytically
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

In addition, you will be a book loving opportunist and a champion of process and operational improvements with the goal of best sales outcomes. You are a self-starter and used to working remotely and independently. Previous experience in the publishing or book industry is highly desirable.
