Senior Editor

Our talented and successful Young Readers publishing department invites applications for a Senior Editor to join our Brands and Partnerships team based in the Sydney office.
The successful applicant will structurally edit, copyedit, project manage and proofread an exciting range of fiction and non-fiction titles for children and teenagers, from picture books up to YA. You will have particular focus on our major brands, working closely with an experienced team of designers and editors to develop content in-house.
With experience in an editorial role in trade book publishing, you’ll have excellent skills in editing and project management, with an ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines and budgets. Fine attention to detail, exceptional spelling, grammar and punctuation, and proficiency editing onscreen in Microsoft Word as well as using industry-standard software are essential.
You’ll be working with authors, illustrators, designers and our broader Penguin Random House children’s team so good communication and teamwork skills are important, as is a passion for and knowledge of children’s books.
