The Data Operations team integrates external data sources into our data platform both in batch and streaming pipeline and provides unified and secured access to the data lake for product teams. The teams guarantees deletion and information retrieval in all aspects of GDPR. It is building and maintaining the Data Catalog and Data Lineage for discoverability and maintainability and provides a unified security and permission model for data storage and access. 


These tasks await you:

  • Design, build and maintain services and pipelines in integrate external data sources into the data platform
  • Design and implement services for deletion and information retrieval in all aspects of GDPR
  • Build and maintain data pipelines for data cleansing and enrichment
  • Build and maintain infrastructure for data pipelines and services
  • Build and maintain Data Catalog and Data Lineage
  • Design and implement permission and security model for data access
  • Actively seek ways to improve the data platform and pipelines
  • Contribute to our overall mission at RTL Data by sharing your expert knowledge regarding data and data pipelines
  • Working in an agile, international environment


And this is your profile:

  • B.Sc., M.Sc. or Ph.D. in computer science or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar role and strong DevOps and Data Engineering background
  • Experience building, deploying and maintaining data pipelines in production and solid skills in programming with Python, Java/Scala/Kotlin and Go 
  • Ability to write efficient, well-tested code with a keen eye on scalability and maintainability
  • Experience with cloud computing and cloud based data pipelines, GCP is a plus
  • Experience with at least one massive parallel data processing framework, e.g. dataflow, flink or spark
  • Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as code (e.g. terraform) and experience developing scalable data pipelines with Spark, Beam or related technologies
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiar with workflow management platforms like Airflow or Argo Workflows and best practices in the data engineering community
  • You enjoy working in an agile team, like to get involved, think "out of the box" and are keen to tackle new topics
  • Good English skills complete your profile
