Position Summary

As our Senior E-Commerce Specialist, you will be Hay House’s hands-on Shopify expert, keeping our growing portfolio of Shopify storefronts running smoothly and improving how they perform through day-to-day administration, merchandising, product management, reporting, and integrations. Reporting to the Director of E-Commerce, you’ll translate business, marketing, and sales goals into effective customer experiences using Shopify expertise, sound e-commerce judgment, analytics, and technical fluency.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000. This position is remote and open to candidates residing in eligible U.S. states.

Responsibilities and Expertise

  • Manage day-to-day Shopify operations across Hay House storefronts, including product and catalog data, collections, meta fields, navigation, pricing, promotions, merchandising, apps, integrations, and data accuracy.
  • Monitor storefront health, complete QA and troubleshooting, maintain product feeds and social-commerce connections, and escalate technical issues when needed.
  • Lead storefront merchandising and conversion rate optimization using customer and performance data to improve product discovery, navigation, promotions, cross-sells, upsells, conversion, and sales.
  • Partner with Marketing to execute campaigns and promotions in Shopify, and with Development to define requirements, coordinate projects, complete QA, and support production launches.
  • Own e-commerce reporting through Shopify, GA4, and related tools, translating performance data into insights and recommendations. Monitor emerging channels, including social commerce, AI-referred traffic, and agentic commerce.
  • Use approved AI and automation tools, including ChatGPT Enterprise, to improve workflows, merchandising, efficiency, discoverability, and customer experience while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
  • Create and maintain SOPs and process documentation, stay current on Shopify capabilities and e-commerce trends, and recommend improvements that support efficiency, customer experience, and sales.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong e-commerce judgment with the ability to connect catalog data, platform configuration, feeds, integrations, merchandising, and storefront experiences.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to turn data into practical recommendations and action.
  • Technical fluency, including the ability to partner with developers, write clear requirements and documentation, and determine when to escalate an issue.
  • Comfortable using AI and automation responsibly, with sound judgment around accuracy, validation, data privacy, and company policies.
  • Highly detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a changing e-commerce environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain e-commerce and technical information clearly and collaborate effectively with Web, Development, Marketing, Customer Service, and other cross-functional teams.

  • 3-5 years of direct Shopify administration experience in an enterprise-level or comparably complex e-commerce environment.
  • Experience partnering with technical teams and using analytics to improve e-commerce performance.
