Fremantle’s Group Marketing function is responsible for supporting the marketing communications strategy of the company across programming, sales, and corporate reputation.
About the role
The Head of Creative is responsible for running Fremantle’s in-house marketing creative team and processes, and for managing external creative suppliers, to deliver creative solutions for marketing.
The internal team supports all of Fremantle’s group functions via design and AV services, and asset management, across entertainment, documentaries, drama, film, and corporate.
External suppliers cover a wide range of agency and freelance / consultant resources, working to briefs and budgets set by the wider marketing team.
The Head of Creative works closely with the Group Director of Global Marketing and the heads of the marketing and communications teams within Group Marketing, to promote Fremantle’s titles in a consistent and high-quality way. The role also works directly with Group Marketing’s Trade Marketing and Events teams.
The role is responsible for taking and responding to briefs, setting creative direction, and monitoring quality and quantity of output across the creative team and external suppliers. The role also line-manages the internal creative team and is responsible for ensuring their development needs are met.
Key activities and responsibilities
- Ensuring briefs are responded to in a creative, high-quality and timely fashion with best-in-class output across design (print, on-screen, large format) and AV (trailers, motion graphics, social and digital content).
- Setting creative direction and vision for Fremantle’s marketing and brand assets.
- Line managing the internal creative team across design, AV, and asset management, including day-to-day needs and development, and monitoring consistency and quality of their work.
- Liaising and coordinating with the Design and AV Leads to take briefs, present work, and manage feedback, plus secure signoffs with internal or external stakeholders.
- Working with external creative suppliers to agree briefs, budgets, and deliveries on commissioned projects, including maintaining relationships with a range of suppliers to ensure resource availability and competitive pricing.
- Collaborating with other heads-of-teams within Group Marketing to deliver consultancy and service across development projects, corporate activity, events, sales, and post-sales support.
- Project management of creative work including maintaining up-to-date records of briefs taken, deadlines, and output, and financial tracking of rechargeable work.
- Maintaining an appropriate archive of production marketing assets received and maintaining templates/ style guides/ systems and processes etc.

- Evidence of a highly creative and visual approach to commercial problem solving.
- Demonstrable ability to manage people with different levels of experience and responsibility.
- Strong stakeholder management skills for direct team colleagues, wider business contacts, and external partners, at different levels of seniority.
- Ability to work across multiple simultaneous projects.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Project management and budget management skills.
- Familiarity with creative execution processes and techniques (eg. software, image formats, AV and print production etc).
- Awareness of content industry trends including competitors and peers.
- Awareness of cultural, geographic, and platform-driven TV market and marketing differences.
- Awareness of creative trends and inspiration from relevant sources.
- Highly proficient in PowerPoint and/or Keynote.
- Basic proficiency in Adobe tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere).
- An awareness of or experience in using AI tools and solutions to enhance output and streamline processes.
