Job Description
The AI Engagement and Communications Lead makes AI part of Fremantle’s DNA by inspiring and engaging people in every region. You will build visibility and momentum for AI, turning the tools, vendors and local wins into stories and programmes that people understand, trust and use.
You will also be the communications engine of our new AI operating model. It introduces the Global AI Board, the Territory CEO’s committee, a Central Support Group and a product development framework that matures local ideas into global scale. Each forum has different objectives and information needs. This role makes sure the right information flows up, down and across, so local wins are shared widely, and the centre can enable and multiply them.
Key responsibilities:
Operating model communications and information flow
- Own the communications plan for the AI operating model: what each forum needs to know, in what format, how often and from whom.
- Keep information moving in both directions. Regional progress, wins and blockers go up. Decisions, priorities and central support come down.
- Produce regular, plain language updates for the Executive Committee and the Territory CEO’s committee on progress.
- Provide regular updates on the product development lifecycle, including how a local solution matures into a global one, and keep the pipeline of bigger bets visible.
Communications and storytelling
- Own the global AI communications plan: campaigns, announcements, leadership briefings, release notes and a regular “what’s new” rhythm.
- Translate AI capabilities into plain, “why it matters” messages and practical examples for each audience, from executives to production crews and post houses.
- Build and run the channels that give AI a visible home across the company, including intranet content, newsletters, town hall segments and the AI Studio community.
Leadership engagement
- Work with the senior leadership to help position AI as a core strategic priority across the organisation, helping set clear expectations for business and territory leaders to champion its development, identify relevant opportunities and take accountability for progress.
- Partner with HR and senior leadership to develop ways of incentivising leaders to prioritise AI and commit time, resources and attention to its advancement.
- Work with HR and AI teams to identify common gaps in leadership understanding, confidence and capability, shaping guidance, resources and learning initiatives that equip leaders to make informed decisions and lead AI adoption locally.
- Develop CEO sponsored and organisation wide initiatives that encourage sustained participation and create space for AI development, such as protected time for learning and experimentation, business challenges and opportunities to demonstrate results. Provide clear guidance for territories to adapt and deliver these initiatives locally.
Visibility of tools, vendors and local wins
- Make it easy for every region to see what is available, what is approved and how to start.
- Find, document and promote local use cases and successes so proven solutions travel between regions.
- Keep a clear view of vendor and partner activity that colleagues should know about.
Literacy and engagement
- Develop the communications, branding and engagement strategy that supports AI literacy across Fremantle, including campaign materials, facilitator guides, train the trainer content and onboarding assets, in partnership with HR, Learning & Development, regional leaders and AI subject matter experts.
- Grow and support the network of AI champions so peer to peer learning carries the message locally.
- Include responsible use, governance and guardrails in all training and communications.
Scaling adoption at speed
- Identify where proven tools can scale next and run targeted pushes with regional leaders.
- Define adoption and engagement measures with the AI Board and Leadership team, and report on them regularly.
- Run pulse checks and gather frontline feedback to improve what we say and how we say it.
Spotting blockers
- Capture regional challenges, gaps and resistance early, and present them to AI leadership and the Central Support Group with a clear view of impact and urgency.
- Close the loop with regions on what has been fixed.
What success looks like:
- A global AI communications and engagement plan agreed with AI leadership in the first 90 days.
- Every forum in the operating model receives the information it needs on a set rhythm and knows what is expected of it.
- Global AI Board decisions reach regions quickly, and regions can see what happened as a result.
- Measurable, sustained growth in active use of approved AI tools in every region, beyond awareness.
- A steady flow of local use cases and wins adopted in other regions.
- An active champion network with a clear rhythm and visible local ownership.
Qualifications
Experience and skills:
Essential
- Significant experience leading internal communications, engagement, change management or digital adoption programmes in a complex international organisation, with a strong track record of influencing senior leaders, building commitment and translating strategic priorities into action. Experience supporting technology or AI adoption would be an advantage.
- Experience writing for senior audiences, such as executive committees and boards, and turning complex updates into short, decision ready briefings.
- Excellent writing and storytelling, with a record of multi channel campaigns that changed behaviour.
- Experience engaging a distributed, global audience across cultures, time zones and functions.
- Confident facilitator of workshops, showcases, live sessions and senior governance meetings.
- Experience running the rhythm of a governance forum, such as a secretariat, chief of staff or programme office role.
- A data informed approach: you define measures, run pulse checks and adjust based on what you learn.
- Practical fluency with AI tools, and the curiosity to keep learning. You do not need to be an engineer, but you must be able to explain AI simply and credibly.
- Strong stakeholder skills with executives, creative teams, legal and regional leaders.
Desirable
- Experience in media, entertainment or production environments.
- Experience building or running a champion or advocate network.
- Familiarity with AI governance, responsible use and data protection.
- A strong grounding in brand marketing and campaign design.
- Additional languages.
