
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join DK’s UK sales team as a Sales Manager!
Reporting to the Head of Mass Market, you will be responsible for the management of the supermarket accounts across all DK’s diverse and bestselling portfolio, working across adult and children’s books, fiction and non-fiction. Working with the Head of Mass Market on forward-looking sales and publishing strategy, you will be responsible for growing the sales in these accounts. This role is also the Divisional Sales Lead for DK+, our award-winning and bestselling Licensing Division, where you will represent UK sales in acquisitions, in internal and external meetings and help shape and drive the direction of publishing division working closely with Editorial, Marketing and Publicity, as well as the senior UK sales team.

We are looking for someone with significant account management experience and a proven track record of delivering market leading sales and growth, ideally from a supermarket or high street background.
You will enjoy the challenge of selling to a competitive area of the market and bring strategic thinking and a creative eye for problem solving. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and open to change, with a passion for detail. You will demonstrate numeracy in delivering sales targets and company profitability, bring excellent communication skills both in person and online, and maintain a keen commercial awareness for both your accounts and the wider UK market. This role calls for a team player, who can swiftly build effective relationships with key stakeholders within the company and with our customers.
Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

Implement effective strategies to maximise sales and revenue growth from key accounts.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities, while also fostering growth and upselling within existing accounts.

Collaborate with internal teams such as production, editorial, and marketing to ensure seamless execution of account plans.

UK sales lead for DK+ Division : representing UK sales in acquisition meetings, cover meetings, brand meetings and publishing reviews. Close collaboration with the publishing division on publishing strategy.

Provide timely and accurate sales reports, forecasts, and analysis to the Head of Channel and the Sales Leadership Team
Skills & Behaviours:

Proven account management experience within the publishing industry

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Proficiency in Google Workspace or MS Office ( Word, Excel, PowerPoint essential). Familiarity with SAP and Biblio helpful.

Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
