DK Marketing & Communications - Group Marketing & Communications Assistant

Dorling Kindersley Limited

Job Description

We're looking for an organised, proactive, and friendly Group Marketing & Communications Assistant to join DK in a hands-on role that will give you broad experience across both Marketing and Communications.  If you enjoy being the person who makes things happen, keeps everything on track, and loves balancing communication with slick administrative execution, this is the perfect next step for you.

In this role, you’ll quickly become the central hub that keeps everything running smoothly for the group marketing and communications teams.  You’ll look after the day-to-day organisation of the department, updating systems, keeping schedules on track, and making sure internal and international teams have exactly what they need.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Schedules & weekly insights: you will own the distribution of vital weekly updates, schedules, and best-seller/market data (like Bookscan) to keep the global and UK teams aligned.

  • Media & industry submissions: you'll manage the process for The Bookseller previews, pitches, and buyer's guides - liaising with PR leads, pulling title lists, and uploading key data.

  • Campaign & partner support: you’ll act as a key point of contact for external partners like Bookshop.org and the BA, coordinating advertising bundles, handling author activity requests, and supporting major trade shows.

  • Project & asset coordination: from assisting with the project management of the DK Catalogue to submitting design briefs for social media and newsletter assets, you'll ensure our titles are beautifully represented.

  • Essential administration: you’ll keep the financial wheels turning by managing advertising bookings, raising POs, and processing invoices.  You will also keep our meetings productive by preparing agendas, pulling data slides, and circulating key minutes.

To succeed in the role, you’ll enjoy keeping things organised and be able to stay on top of a busy workload without getting flustered.  You will communicate clearly, whether you are dealing with internal publishers, commercial sales teams, or external industry partners.  You’ll feel comfortable juggling data, administrative systems, and creative briefs, always remaining a warm, reliable point of contact.

If you’re excited by this role, we’d love to hear from you!  For your application to be considered, please ensure both cover letter and CV are submitted.

Closing date for applications: 19th July 2026

Salary: up to £28,500 depending on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits
