  • Own the annual and quarterly partnership tax calendar, including notices, extensions, estimates, filing deadlines, review milestones, and required internal approvals.
  • Manage and review U.S. partnership tax compliance, including Forms 1065, Schedules K-1, partner statements, state and local filings, composite and withholding filings, and related information returns.
  • Oversee high-volume data collection, validation, workpaper preparation, review, and retention for a broad portfolio of partnerships and related entities.
  • Review partnership allocations, basis and capital account activity, contributions, distributions, debt, ownership changes, and other items affecting partner reporting and tax compliance.
  • Coordinate with accounting, controllership, finance, legal, business units, and external tax advisors to resolve data gaps, technical issues, and filing or reporting exceptions.
  • Support quarterly and year-end tax accounting and financial reporting, including tax provision calculations, current and deferred tax analyses, reconciliations, uncertain tax positions, effective tax rate support, and tax account rollforwards.
  • Maintain accurate entity, partner, ownership, tax attribute, notice, and filing records, and administer tax compliance and workflow systems in accordance with department controls.
  • Manage relationships with external accounting firms and other service providers, including scope, deliverables, budgets, issue resolution, quality review, and performance against deadlines.
  • Respond to tax notices and support federal, state, local, and other tax audits, including information requests, documentation, workpaper support, and coordination of responses.
  • Support M&A and tax planning projects involving partnership matters.
  • Lead partnership tax projects such as process redesign, system implementations, entity onboarding, regulatory changes, tax technology improvements, and remediation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of partnership tax experience in public accounting and/or a complex, multi-entity corporate environment; experience in a high-volume function strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA required or strongly preferred. MST, JD, or equivalent advanced tax education is a plus.
  • Strong technical experience with partnership taxation, including Form 1065, Schedule K-1 reporting, allocations, basis, capital accounts, debt, and partner transactions.
  • Working knowledge of tax accounting and financial reporting, including ASC 740 and/or IFRS tax reporting, reconciliations, provision support, and audit documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage recurring compliance and reporting cycles across many entities, prioritize deadlines, and maintain high-quality work product under pressure.
  • Proven project management skills, including planning, scheduling, stakeholder coordination, status communication, risk identification, issue resolution, and delivery of process improvements.
  • Advanced Excel and strong data-management skills; experience with tax compliance, tax provision, ERP, workflow, or document-management systems preferred.
  • Experience supervising or reviewing the work of staff and coordinating external advisors, with a commitment to coaching and quality control.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
