The Public Affairs department is part of Bertelsmann’s Corporate Communications. One of the core tasks of the Public Affairs department is political communication from the perspective of Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA and its subsidiaries (RTL Group, Penguin Random House, Gruner+Jahr, Arvato, Bertelsmann Printing Group, BMG, Bertelsmann Education Group).
We are looking for a Director Government Relations (m/f/d) based in Brussels.
Your tasks
As Director Government Relations (m/f/d) in Brussels you will be responsible for:
- Representation of Bertelsmann interests vis-à-vis the European institutions and political decision-makers in Germany
- Development and implementation of political strategies in the area of media policy
- Monitoring and analysis of political and legal decision-making processes
- Strategic consulting
- Development and writing of Bertelsmann positions, briefings and statements
Your profile
You have completed your studies in law, political science or economics with outstanding grades. You have several years of professional experience in political institutions or in the public affairs environment, preferably in the field of media policy. You have a reliable network of relevant stakeholders at EU and national level. Furthermore, you can offer:
- A sense of integrity, responsibility and reliability
- A distinct understanding of political-strategic processes
- Very good analytical skills
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
- Empathy and diplomatic skills
- Strong collaborative skills as well as a high degree of flexibility and commitment
