Your Mission at BMG

The Coordinator, Recorded Metadata Management, will act as the primary point for all metadata inquiries regarding frontline and catalog releases. Work with project managers, product managers, A&R managers, and distributors to ensure the successful and timely set up and delivery of all metadata for all BMG’s releases.


Your Profile

  • You have an interest in Recorded Music, metadata and supply chain
  • You can process heavy data sheets and have a good understanding of Excel
  • You are comfortable working in a team and are a self-starter 
  • Your time management skills allow you to meet deadlines easily 
  • You have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to track and follow through on multiple concurrent projects to completion.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinate all metadata and label copy for BMG’s labels.   
  • Acquire recording journals for all new releases from A&R to make products and recordings compliant in BMG’s metadata system Capture
  • Insure all recordings are PPI/PPL compliant per PPI/PPL specs
  • Review and adhere to Spotify and Apple Music metadata guidelines
  • Review and fix all tickets from ADA Distributor
  • Ingest catalog and frontline repertoire from newly acquired companies
  • Work with legal and upper management to identify loss of rights or marketing takedowns for products, recordings and artists, and note in capture.
  • Work with the project managers, product managers and artist management on product scheduling forms to create projects, products (musical/non-musical assets) and recordings in BMG’s Capture System.
  • Responsible for creating, managing and providing label copy to BMG’s internal parties and external partners.
  • Create and issue UPC's, ISRC's and Product Codes.
  • Content management, data ingestion and data management in Capture
  • Assist Royalties department with non-compliancy issues
  • Assist Mechanical Licensing department with publishing, writers and splits issues
  • Assist Finance team with non-compliancy issues
  • Review upcoming release schedules for all BMG labels
  • Attend weekly production calls with BMG, Soundstage and BBR Labels
  • Update metadata when recording journals have been re-circulated for accurate metadata in capture. (publishing/writer/splits/p/c line etc.)
  • Monitor data flow from Capture to REMA to insure all data is correct for royalties’ department
  • Work with BMG’s global metadata team



  • Minimum two years-experience in similar role at a record company or publisher
  • Candidate must be well organized, detail oriented, and able to multitask and constructively solve problems while working under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, administrative and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
