Sr. Coordinator, Royalty & Client Services

BMG’s Royalty & Client Services team is a main touch point for all internal and external inquiries. We provide first class service & support to our writers and artists as well as provide support to our colleagues in other departments. We focus on accurate and timely responses with attention to detail and empathy, striving to create and maintain trust for our clients and working partners by efficiently reviewing and resolving their concerns in a timely manner.

Our department works alongside all other BMG teams, including but not limited to: Copyright, Sync Licensing, Royalty Processing, Legal & Business Affairs, and Finance which provides exposure to various parts of the industry. As a team member you will bring a desire to help others, an eagerness to learn and overall positive attitude.

You will be a core member of the team requiring attention to detail, patience, and time management. In this role, you will handle client account updates which aid in facilitating accurate payments to our clients, assist department management with outreach projects related to our VIP partner deals, and have key responsibilities associated with royalty distribution preparation.

What You’ll Be Doing.

  • Be responsible for reoccurring tasks related to Royalty distribution preparation.
  • Assist royalty Manager with large client outreach projects for VIP partner clients.
  • Independent resolution of basic to intermediate client inquires including change of address, bank account updates, tax updates, myBMG account creations, statement and payment questions, income tracking, and sync.
  • Coordinate with Finance and Bertelsmann Accounting Services (BeAS) with royalty Manager to ensure that we stay current with open items before payments are released.
  • Field client phone calls received by BMG front desk, and forwarded by departmental management. Log issues reported in JIRA, and distinguish between issues that can be resolved and those that must be assigned to other Royalty Services staff.
  • Investigate, review, and complete inquiries internally and externally by way of research, problem solving and collaboration with other department.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as needed to support the department and BMG clients.


  • You have previous industry or related experience working with publishing royalties, financial accounting, and/or large data clean-up projects.
  • You hold the ability to multi-task, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks.
  • You have strong attention to detail and organization.
  • You have intermediate skills with MS Excel: V-look, pivot tables, cleaning data, conditional formatting, etc.
  • You display excellent interpersonal skills: you are able to define the appropriate type of communication for internal and external conversations based on the situation, approaching clients with patience and empathy, and being able to build relationships with our clients and colleagues.
  • You are able to transition between analytical & servicing train of thought.

It’s a plus (not a must): if you also have Knowledge of iMaestro/SAP/JIRA Service Desk and familiarity with Google OneDrive.
