Your Mission at BMG

Your mission at BMG is to create, implement and drive multi-phase domestic and international marketing plans for BMG’s catalog artists/clients (in collaboration with other senior executives). You will be responsible for building, managing and cultivating audiences on behalf of our labels and artists. Communicating stories in meaningful and effective ways across various platforms and avenues.

 

We’re looking for someone who is always up to date on the latest digital trends, a creative idea’s person who is eager to drive projects from inception to completion. Someone who can brainstorm and develop content, story-telling and marketing ideas through to execution.

 

Your Profile

  • You have a love for iconic music catalogs and a deep understanding of the history of Rock, Hip-Hop, Pop, Hard Rock, Country, RnB and more.
  • You have familiarity with a variety of music genres and digital audio file formats. 
  • You are able to manage overall execution of project timelines by setting and adhering to project deadlines.
  • You are comfortable working in a team, as a team leader and are a self-starter.  
  • You have exceptional attention to detail and the ability to track and follow through on multiple concurrent projects to completion.
  • You have successfully lead teams and worked high profile catalogue releases

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Create commercial strategy for catalogue releases to optimize marketing opportunities that drive and maximize revenue
  • Oversee all aspects of marketing plans including Social Media, Streaming, Publicity, Radio, Advertising, etc.. to ensure project visibility is maximized and marketing plan is fully executed.
  • Act as primary communication liaison between artists, management, and distributors to coordinate label timelines and objectives in conjunction with artist's management timelines (touring, album releases, book releases, press hits, etc.)
  • Use your account relationships in order to create new opportunities that take advantage of broader platform offers
  • Set account goals including yearly revenue targets for key catalogue titles.
  • Optimize catalogue playlists; implement strategies to achieve/exceed growth, engagement, retention goals
  • Lead frequent partner calls and business presentations with the streaming partners
  • Be a creative visionary, driving progressive marketing campaigns and inspiring innovation across the team.
  • Create and coordinate special events in conjunction with album releases, specific tour dates, and other special events
  • Create and deliver weekly updates for all partners highlighting growth areas and opportunities on priority catalogue and releases
  • Consistently look to find new third-party partners that can help market and promote our releases
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of assigned label's catalogue including history, charts, social media platforms, digital and grassroots marketing efforts
  • Understand the demographics that comprise artists' fan bases and, based on the assets delivered by artists, design and execute product promotions for all aspects of the marketplace
  • Work alongside the ADA and catalogue sales teams to maximize account support around tentpole moments.

 

Must-Haves

  • 7-10 years marketing experience in entertainment field, preferably in music.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to collaborate.
  • Music fan with extreme knowledge of the current catalog landscape.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to discover and educate company on new marketing technologies.
  • Must be organized and able to manage many projects and in real time.
  • Strong knowledge of Outlook, Photoshop, Keynote, and other marketing software.
  • Ability to understand the sensitivity of secure, unreleased music.
  • Understanding of digital and physical music distribution.
