Your Mission at BMG

You will focus on BMG’s dynamic and growing recorded business, creating synch opportunities across all visual media. As part of the creative synch team, the focus is on all of BMG’s worldwide recorded repertoire/releases, with a secondary emphasis on BMG’s published and administered copyrights and catalogue recordings. You will also serve as a conduit of information on recorded releases for the entire creative synch team (who will continue to pitch across the recorded repertoire). The success in this role depends on strong communication and organizing skills, combined with a creative ear to identify and develop synch relevant repertoire out of BMG’s recorded roster and understanding of current music trends across media and being confident interfacing with high-level executives, while having excellent communication skills and organization.


Your Profile

You should be comfortable and confident in dealing with a diverse clientele, internally (from product managers and other recorded colleagues to creative marketing/pitching and licensing staff), externally (artist clients and managers), domestically and internationally (with colleagues in BMG’s offices around the globe); applying your knowledge of the synch market and its trends in evaluating repertoire, tracking down missing assets or information, and communicating clearly yet diplomatically with all stakeholders.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Exhibit thorough knowledge of releases and imperative info for BMG’s recorded rosterAttending both recorded and sync meetings (i.e. update meetings, international recorded update calls, as well as supporting the recorded team when signing new artist clients)
  • Liaising with US and international recorded team to make sure all of BMG’s relevant Recorded Frontline repertoire is covered, generating timelines and one-sheets for the synch marketing team
  • Actively communicate priorities and expectations to the synch team
  • Highlighting recorded repertoire to synch team/ Provide recorded music suggestions on projects, briefs, and pitch opportunities
  • Contributing creatively to the recorded repertoire (i.e. coordinate picking synch focus tracks; sourcing of publishing, marketing campaign and other relevant information)
  • Sourcing of audio assets, like instrumentals/TV versions
  • Initiating the creation of synch version in close coordination with synch team, and manage the recorded music budget for creating synch remixes & edits
  • Track projects across all media currently in production looking for music
  • Attend internal/external meetings as well as potential signings when needed and circulate summary notes afterwards
  • Keeping the recorded team and artist clients/managements updated on synch activity on a regular basis, depending on individual requirements
  • Accompanying synch team members to external client meetings to represent recorded repertoire



  • Bachelor's degree in music business or related field
  • 6+ years prior employment in the music business, preferably with record label and/or management, including experience in the synch marketing/licensing space
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Thorough understanding of master/publishing rights 
  • Knowledge of current music trends across media
  • Strong follow-up and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to interface with high-level personnel
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced/high-volume environment
  • Well-organized with close attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Working in an international environment not required but certainly a plus.
