Senior Finance Manager (15 Month FTC)

Your Mission at BMG.

BMG is on the lookout for a Senior Finance Manager to join our Paddington office on a 15 Month FTC and be responsible for proactively assisting the Financial Controller with managing the financial reporting of BMG’s Publishing business.  


Your Responsibilities.

  • Liaise with the outsourced service team on month end reporting for Magnitude.
  • Correct SAP postings to ensure that Magnitude errors are minimised and bookings made correctly.
  • Accurate and timely month end reporting, reviewing overheads.
  • Review statutory accounts under IFRS and manage the audit process for all companies.
  • Ensure accounts comply with IFRS accounting standards.
  • Review various HMRC returns (VAT, Section 16, EC sales list) and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform impairment testing of assets and valuation of financial instruments. 
  • Ensure correct royalty payment compliance (VAT, WHT) and review of payment file before processing.
  • Assist with company restructuring and dormant company liquidations.
  • Integration of company acquisitions and preparation of completion accounts.
  • Manage the compliance manager to ensure correct accounting and reporting of taxes and general compliance returns.
  • Manage 2 direct reports.
  • Support other finance teams such as Finance assistants, FP&A and Transactions teams.
  • Support the SAP team through process documentation and process development/implementation.
  • Review SAP modules and document for implementation of upgrades.
  • Ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.


Your Profile.

  • 5 years post qualification experience of statutory accounts, month end accounts, balance sheet recs
  • Fully qualified in either ACA / ACCA / CIMA
  • Excellent knowledge of IFRS
  • Previous experience of managing direct reports
  • Knowledge of VAT reporting requirements
  • SAP/Excel (Intermediate/Advanced)
  • Ability to manage work for a large number of legal entities
