Data Analyst (f/m/d)


We are looking for a Data Analyst (f/m/d) who can support Royalty related data processing by providing meaningful insights on all relevant aspects along our publishing and recorded royalties data pipeline. You are passionate about data analysis and visualization, eager to get down to the nitty-gritty using your data wrangling skills and keen to be part of the world’s fastest growing music company, BMG!

 

Your Mission 

As part of the central Royalty Data Analytics team you will collaborate with various business partners from Publishing and Recorded segments like Royalty Processing and Income Tracking as well as A&R and global Finance departments. Our objective is to support the stakeholders by enabling educated decision making with high quality data insights, storytelling and visualization, delivering sophisticated data modelling solutions which improve how we operate and solve business issues as well as providing expertise on application data integrity and managing strategic data architecture projects.

 

Your Responsibilities

  • Handle big data volume, extract and transform data from centralized data warehouses or multiple databases throughout the organization and prepare royalty analyses and KPIs.
  • Utilize technical expertise to ensure data is accurate and high-quality. Data is then analyzed, designed, and presented in a way that assists businesses and organizations make better decisions.
  • Develop self-service reporting solutions as well as answer to ad-hoc queries.
  • Working with developers, engineers and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications and devise data governance strategies. 
  • Visualize reporting results as a basis for decision-making including the creation of compelling dashboards for various stakeholders.
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of automated tools, databases and dashboards.
  • Ultimately, you are going to become an expert on publishing and recorded royalty processing who knows the relevant data inside-out.

 

Your Profile

  • You have a degree in business information systems, business informatics, computer science, information and communication systems, data science, information technology or in a related field.
  • You have the ability to learn and fully understand the data landscape in databases and applications.
  • “The devil is in the detail” is not just a phrase for you but you actually apply this as a motto by cross-validating your results, questioning their plausibility and being persistent on getting the right answers from the relevant business experts.
  • Your approach to work is analytical, precise, results-oriented and well-structured.
  • You are proficient in using data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker or Data Studio as a means of conveying your excellent story-telling skills, including writing custom SQL queries.
  • In addition to your SQL skills you like to explore new data technologies. Knowledge in Python is a plus.
  • Due to the cross-functional nature of this role, you are able to plan and execute your own projects, approaching new topics proactively and autonomously.
  • German and English - spoken as well as written - are easy for you to master.
