(Senior) Data Engineer (f/m/d)

 

We are looking for a (Senior) Data Engineer (f/m/d) to join our headquarters in Berlin. You are a thorough and a highly flexible, unreserved team player and a communicator, keen to be part of the world's fastest-growing music company, BMG. You understand the music industry as a whole and are also able to dive into details as and when required.

This role has a need for a strong technical skill set with a data mindset. In this position, you are a passionate and talented Data Engineering professional with problem-solving abilities and coding/testing/tuning skills who can work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Your Mission

  • Work closely with the business users, development teams and product owners to deliver solutions for data sourcing, ingestion and processing.
  • Co-ordinate with onsite, nearshore and offshore teams to deliver technical solutions.
  • Build relationships with internal Data Analysts and Stewards to drive a “Self Service” approach for end-to-end data pipelines. 
  • Work with application, and data architects to propose and develop solutions while driving transformational initiatives.
  • Research, identify, and internally market enabling technologies based on business requirements during the journey from indentation to implementation.
  • Foster an innovative culture within the team and drive user training initiatives globally.
  • Develop operational concepts for our data analytics stack, including permission management, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and proactively assess and evaluate the adoption thereof into the organization.
  • Collaborate with experts in the field to bring in best practices in various technologies and tools.

 

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s   degree   in   Computer   Science   or   equivalent   combination   of technical education and work experience.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering with exposure to data analytics and data science teams.
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise & experience in data engineering and data lake design.
  • Detailed understanding of database systems and big data processing technologies in the cloud (preferably GCP).
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python.
  • Knowledge of AirFlow, Spark, BigQuery, Looker, Tableau etc. is added advantage.
  • Solid communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability and desire to engage and collaborate with diverse set of stakeholders.
