LINUX Administrator




  • The System Engineer (SE) task is to support the team of SEs in Germany. This includes incident management, patch management, change management and support in problem management (in accordance with ITIL) for the LINUX Server operating systems. The SE’s main responsibility is to analyze & troubleshoot operating system incidents, support for the monthly automated patch process as well as collaborate with our patch management team.
  • Support monthly patch process for LINUX-Server
  • Support Server upgrades
  • Support Server changes on LINUX
  • Solve standard incidents for LINUX-Server (SLES, RedHat, CentOS)




  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Have basic-to-intermediate understanding and/or experience with:
  • Familiar with Service Management tools (Ticketing and Monitoring).
  • Operational Support Systems such as Streamworks and/or KARO3.
  • Clustering technologies
  • Virtualization technologies like those from VMware, HyperV and Cisco UCS Bladecenter.
  • SAN Storage
  • Certifications like LPIC, RHCSA or LFCS are an added advantage.
  • Must be familiar with operation support on a global scale. Knowledge of information security and ITIL processes is preferable.
  • Flexible and willing to work in dynamic environment with client-driven projects and run-and-maintain business operations. Candidates are expected to communicate and collaborate with clients and colleagues in EU, North America and/or Asia-Pacific regularly.
  • Have solid analytical, interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Independent, self-disciplined, self-organized, and able to learn and work under/with minimum supervision.
