Associate System Administrator

Working as part of the Global Delivery team, the Application Administrator’s role is to provide applications support to maximize customer satisfaction, end user experience, and product uptime for core applications currently utilized by the Company. The Application Administrator is expected to be an advocate and involved in all aspects of Application Management Services and Service Delivery in line with the practices of ITIL. The ideal candidate is able to demonstrate strong technical capability, process adherence, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

The individual will work within the incident man-agement, change management, and support in problem management (in accordance with ITIL) for various applications, ranging from simple process-es to highly complex application architectures. Additionally, to find development opportunities in operational tasks automation via scripting

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and troubleshoot application deployments.
  • Build and maintain highly automated deployment procedures.
  • Maintain and migrate existing custom scripts to automated orchestration tools.


Requirements:

  • Successfully completed Bachelor/Master of Science (Computer Science) or successfully completed vocational training as a specialist in computer science with a focus on system integration or application development
  • Advanced UNIX/LINUX Administration > 2 years (SLES, RedHat)
    • Analyze and debug processes
    • Debug process and network communication
    • Analyze system status regarding memory, storage and CPU
    • In-depth knowledge of handling files and filesystems
    • Advanced used skills in creating and analyzing of SQL statements and DB behaviour
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL and Service Management methodologies
  • Basic administration of Databases (Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL or MYSQL)
  • Basic skills in installation of Open-Source Technology, i.e., installation and maintenance of Web services (Apache, TomCat, JBoss, and Glassfish)
  • Basic experience in application administration of Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, and/or BitBucket) not limited to configuration, implementation, update, patch management and customization of add-ons.
  • Basic experience in understanding architecture load balancing, analyzing Java stack traces and usage of revision control systems
  • Basic knowledge in TCP/IP packet analysis, routing, switching and Firewalls
  • Basic experience and interest in scripting \; e.g., Windows Batch, PowerShell, Linux Shell scripting, Java, PHP or Perl
  • Added advantage for Automation tools (Ansible, CHEF)
  • Added advantage for Docker and Kubernetes
