Description:   The Inventory Accounting Manager will be responsible for the accounting of inventory at all Arvato Digital Services U.S. locations, including inventory valuation, obsolescence, customer buyout agreements along with providing analysis for decision-making.  In addition, the position is expected to update and establish processes and policies to ensure proper valuation and accounting treatment.


General Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Monitor stock levels with Account Managers and escalate when balances become unreasonable
  2. Determine appropriate monthly valuation adjustments and obsolescence reserves
  3. Review material purchases for inconsistent unit of measures
  4. Reconcile inventory hub reports and inventory subledgers to SAP
  5. Oversee customer buyouts (sunsetting or end of life clauses)
  6. Present informative inventory reports to management, including but not limited to aging, cycle count and scrap reports
  7. Assist internal or external auditors with testing of inventory including cycle counts and cut off testing
  8. Provide guidance to operations on proper use of inventory movements
  9. Update or establish inventory movement processes or policies
  10. Support with SAP personnel on implementation of new clients
  11. Develop a strong understanding of the various businesses, systems and clients to support and recommend best in class processes
  12. Proactively plan and execute tasks necessary for month-end reporting
  13. Complete various projects assigned by Management


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Minimum 4 years General Accounting experience with an emphasis on cost accounting and inventory control
  2. University degree in Business or Finance
  3. Very good Accounting knowledge
  4. Analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills
  5. Very good to excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  6. Strong SAP Materials Management (MM) experience required
  7. Think with an IT mindset for end to end data flows
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  9. Work independently with little supervision
  10. Organizational and planning skills, including ability to: prioritize work, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set goals and enforce deadlines, while maintaining flexibility to reassess and prioritize goals
  11. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  12. Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
